Fantastic turnout for microchipping event

Saturday, 8th October 2011

Our microchipping event was held on the 8th of October.  We were so pleased to see a large number of our exisiting clients and meet some new ones too.  We successfully implanted 96 chips on the day, mostly dogs, cats, kittens and puppies, but also owls, parrots, macaws and tortoises, including a couple of slightly stubborn Leopard tortoises that we needed to give sedation to gain the upper hand! It was a great day and we are very grateful to all our hardworking staff who were good enough to work on their days off.  Wonder if we can top that next time... we'll see!

Well Done Laura! Laura has been studying for her City and Guilds in Exotic Animal Nursing for the past year and sat her exams in September in Edinburgh- we are proud to say she has passed and joins Amber in having this special qualification!

Latest news from the practice

Thursday, 29th September 2011

The practice is getting busier and we are growing thanks to all your support.  we are enjoying meeting you and your pets.  We have some new members in our team too:

Hayley has joined us as a student veterinary nurse.  She has started her studies at Easton College this month and we wish her every success.  Lucie is our new qualified veterinary nurse and is fitting in well.  Faye is our new vet.  She joins us from Haven vets in Great Yarmouth and has a real interest in the exotics species that we treat here.

we have been busy in the community with visits from the local Beaver Scouts and a lecture for the Felthorpe Womens' Institute.    Our tortoise worming  and healthcheck events for the Norfolk Tortoise club were a great success- we wormed over 70 tortoises in one afternoon!  Yesterday we went to the Horsford Infant School to launch their Wildlife Warriors Competition and are looking forward to seeing the artwork and poems submitted by the children.  Look out for other forthcoming events.
