Prescriptions
We constantly strive to ensure that the medicines we prescribe are of the highest quality, are the most effective available and offer the best value for money. We make sure that all our medicines are stored correctly in temperature-controlled environments and are supplied to you with good advice and back-up. However, we are happy to provide a written prescription for out-patient treatments for a small fee, which we will refund if you purchase the medicines from our online shop.
Where an extended period of treatment is concerned, we offer a repeat prescription service, by phone or email (see below). Periodic check-ups are required to ensure that the patient’s underlying condition hasn’t deteriorated; these reviews are usually at up to six month intervals, but may be more often if the condition requires it. Please note that we can only provide written prescriptions whilst the pet is being monitored in this way, as the patient must be ‘under the care of a veterinary surgeon’.
You may wish to investigate obtaining medicines via the internet, and there are a few reputable companies that offer this service. However you should be aware that there are companies and individuals who are not regulated and who may be offering medicines that are not of good quality, or may not be what they purport to be. Please be careful.
We offer advice on, and can arrange pet health insurance and pet health plans which can help considerably with the cost of treatments and medicines; please ask us for more information.
